NOW® Sports Waxy Maize is a complex starch derived from non-GMO corn that consists of 90% amylopectin, a high molecular weight, multi-branched polysaccharide. Due to its complex structure, amylopectin is slowly absorbed by the body; but once absorbed, it is easily assimilated by muscle tissue and converted into glycogen.* Glycogen is a stored carbohydrate that serves as a sustained pool of glucose that the body readily uses for energy production during exercise.* Waxy maize also supports glycogen resynthesis well after you are finished working out, sustaining energy levels throughout the day.*
